Spring is arriving in full force which means now is the time to take care of any maintenance you put off! Winter can be harsh on a car, especially one parked outside, but spring is no lightweight. Take the time to properly prepare your car for rain and warmer weather. Here are a few useful spring maintenance tips from us here at Pollard Used Cars of Lubbock!
- Wipers – Even warm climates face a little snow and rain over the course of winter. As a result, your windshield wipers likely saw a fair amount of use in the past season. Both a safety and convenience feature, windshield wipers should be replaced every six months. Inspect your wipers and replace them if necessary!
- Oil – There are few fluids in a car that play a more important role than oil. Oil lubricates, protects, and cools the engine, making it a vital part of your daily driving routine. Cold weather tends to cause oil to thicken while warmer temperatures cause it to thin. As you can imagine, that isn’t good for its viscosity. Get an oil change to ensure your engine operates at peak performance.
- Lights – Heavy rains mean using your headlights to ensure other drivers can see you from a distance. You could easily find yourself in trouble due to a lack of properly functioning headlights. Take the time to inspect your headlights and replace any burnt out bulbs!
