Here are the top 10 most generous towns in Texas presented by us here at Pollard Used Cars.

  1. Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington took the top spot with 3.77% of the residents’ total income, which comes out to $5,265,147,000.
  2. Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown gave $4,949,879,000 to charity in 2012.
  3. Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos comes in with an impressive $1,216,197,000 in charitable donations.
  4. San Antonio-New Braunfels is a major tourist hotspot which means a higher income. As a result, residents donated $1,030,949,000 to charity, equating to 3.29% of their total annual income.
  5. Midland saw a massive $256,496,000 donated to charity, coming in at roughly 4.95% of the city’s total income.
  6. Beaumont-Port Arthur residents donated a generous $186,517,000 to charity in 2012.
  7. Tyler residents donated 5.53% of their income to charity, coming in with a total of $176,004,000.
  8. El Paso gave 2.61% of its total income to charity and that adds up to a whopping $160,755,000 to charity.
  9. Lubbock squeezed by Amarillo with a total contribution of $157,324,000 or roughly 4.46% of the total income.
  10. Amarillo residents gave 4.88% of their total income, coming in with a total of $151,764,000 donated to charity.
